"Agassi还在，Henman还在", this article should have been written for quite some time...
The following, dated 2009-01-09, was quoted from another tennis forum: -
"I watched the DOHA "Nadal vs Monfils" match last night and have been thinking about it since.
Monfils impressed me with his vast improvement and aggressive game plan against the world no. 1. I disliked his "Tai Chi" style when he played Roland Garros last year but what I saw last night was simply amazing. It showed his potential to the fullest. No doubt his game plan worked that he won the match by two sets straight... I think it's good for Nadal to have tasted the defeat now (i.e. sooner the better) so he can come up with some new tactics before important touraments...
In 2008, some commentators said that the current top 3 (Nadal/Federer/Djokovic) were dominating male tennis (i.e. all four Grand slams are only within their grasp or that the big difference of ATP ranking points). It used to be true but I believe those days, if not yet over, will soon be over - actually as soon as this month during the coming AO!
Murray has gone up fast and he's already world no. 4 and no doubt he is versatile and strong in many different aspects. Now I think Monfils (#13) & Tsonga (#7) are just like Murray. What they need the most to have a breakthrough is the first grand Slam title!
Federer is my idol and he always will be but I truly believe that 2009 should be his last year in pro tennis...If he cannot get one (to even) or more (to break Sampras record) Grand Slam title(s) this year he will never do it...He is my no. 1 always and I don't enjoy at all seeing him defeated by the new wave repeatedly...
I admire Nadal for his strength and determination. But his play is just too physically demanding and I'm not sure how long he can keep on playing like that. Injuries will be his hurdle.
Djokovic's play is tricky but his physical fitness is doubtful. Personally I just don't like him at all.
I bet the three (Murray/Tsonga/Monfils) together with Nadal & Djokovic will be the top 5 by the end of 2009.
Just my stupid opinion, C-hing & C-tse, what do you think? "
